Mission Statement & Purpose
The Mission of the SPMS Instrumental Music Program is to offer
the finest quality professional instruction available and to reach as many students as possible.
Our goal is to increase awareness and understanding of music, and to allow the students
to experience performing locally, statewide and nationally.
We also aim to maintain excellent communications between the faculty, students, parents,
and community leaders as well as provide a safe, enjoyable experience, where all students feel successful.

South Pointe's Instrumental Music Program Includes:
-An Award-Winning, Nationally Recognized Wind Ensemble
-3 Award Winning Grade Level Bands (6th, 7th & 8th)
-A Chamber Ensemble program which includes flute ensemble, clarinet, double reed ensemble,
saxophone, french horn, trumpet, low brass, tuba and an award-winning percussion ensemble
-350+ students in the instrumental program (over 35% of South Pointe's student body)
-A music staff of over 15 professional players from the L.A. area
-Class time includes small group, one on one, and large ensemble instruction
