Ensembles at South Pointe
There are 3 grade level bands and Wind Ensemble. Along with our bands which range from 90-140 students each we offer chamber ensembles for each instrument area.

Wind EnsembleWind Ensemble is our only audition-based group in our music program. It is for students wanting a higher challenge above the grade level bands. This ensemble has many performances throughout the year and are regarded locally, statewide and nationally as one of the most profound middle school ensembles.
6th, 7th & 8th Grade BandsAny student at South Pointe can join our grade level bands anytime of the year no matter their experience. Students will learn the basics of reading and understanding music and also how to make a beautiful sound on their instruments all while next to their friends. These ensembles perform concerts throughout the year and go to a judged festival in the spring time.
Chamber EnsemblesChamber Ensembles are one of the most unique aspects of South Pointe's Instrumental Program. Rarely do you see middle schools provide these ensembles, but they are one of the secrets to our strong success as a music program.
Each ensemble is made up of only one instrument family. Chamber Ensembles truly take an intermediate student to an advanced level very quickly. |
