Based in Orange County, Michael is active as a freelance trombonist and teacher throughout Southern California. He performs regularly with several Orange County orchestras, including Symphony Irvine and the Dana Point Symphony, and has also performed with the American Youth Symphony and YMF Debut Orchestra, both pre-professional orchestras in Los Angeles. Also a dedicated chamber musician, Michael is a founding member of “Trombone Time Machine”, a Los Angeles-based trombone quartet that presents engaging musical programs to underserved audiences with the support of the Max H. Gluck Foundation.
He studied with David Stetson, trombonist of the Pacific Symphony, at Chapman University in Orange, CA, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He is currently completing a Master of Music performance degree at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where he studies with Dr. Terry Cravens of the LA Opera.
